Fauquier County Public Library

Summer Reading Program

Reading by Design, the 2017 Fauquier County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, will officially kick off June 1. The first special event will be held Saturday, June 10.

The 2017 program – Reading by Design – is for readers of all ages, with games, prizes and lots of fun planned.  Activities will be held at all 3 library locations (Warrenton central, Bealeton and John Marshall) weekly for preschool through teens, emphasizing reading and STEAM.

Special events will also held throughout the summer for all age groups.

Adults can join the fun through a program designed just for them, which includes a game card to track reading and activities with prize drawings through the summer.

Prizes are also awarded to children and teens and the popular prize wheel will thrill young participants.

Here’s how it works

  • Registration: Children and teens should register online or at their local library. No registration required for adults. Registration opens Thursday, June 1, 2017.
  • Prize Wheel: Children log what they read to earn a weekly spin of the prize wheel.
  • Game Cards: Adults can pick up game cards each week beginning June 10.  Complete your game card, then return it to your local library on your next visit. Each time you return a completed game card, you are entered into prize drawings held mid-summer and at the end of the Summer Reading Program. The more game cards you return, the more chances you have to win!

All events and programs are free thanks to the generous support of The Friends of the Fauquier Library and donations from local businesses.
