1000 Books Before Kindergarten
It’s never too early to help your child learn to love reading! Join our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program and track the books you and your child read before they start school. Check in regularly at the library to log your progress and receive rewards along the way. Read 1,000 books and make it to onto our Wall of Fame! Reading together from infancy helps to boost your child’s early literacy skills and better prepares them for school. Register online or at your local library branch and then read, read, read!
Liberty High School National Honor Society members assist elementary and middle school students with homework or class assignments. Students must bring in specific school work to receive tutoring. Free. No registration required. Sessions offered only when school is in session. Bealeton Library only.
LEGO Free Play
The library isn’t just about books. At our monthly LEGO Club, the library provides loads of LEGOs and children are free to create whatever they’d like. Creating with LEGOs helps build motor skills, spatial reasoning and creativity. It’s also a lot of fun! Build the tallest tower, design your dream home or create something totally unique. Open to student Kindergarten through grade 5.
Paws to Read
Want to share your favorite book with a furry friend? Read aloud to a trained therapy dog! Our therapy dogs are great listeners and can’t wait to help you practice your reading skills while telling them a great tale. Open to children ages 5 – 10. Children must be accompanied by parent or caregiver; signed permission slip required.
