Reading Riot: Stretch Your Brainpower

Posted by annmcd on

Welcome back to Reading Riot!

You’ve enjoyed a nice long holiday but now it’s time to get your mental juices flowing again. Stop in to our Teen Advisory Group meeting for some brain games and trivia. We’ll challenge your mind with some fun activities to get you thinking.

What’s your vision of the future?

This is also a good time to consider your New Year’s resolutions. We all have dreams and goals we want to achieve; whatever they may be, a vision board is a concrete representation of those hopes. So, set your goals and create a vision board to reinforce your dreams and keep you focused on achieving them. It’s also a fun reminder of who you want to be in life.

We’ll provide poster board and magazines and you can bring photographs and memorabilia to attach. Combine pictures and inspirational words to create a work of art that reflects your goals in life. Then display your Vision Board in a prominent place and look at it every day to remind you of where you want to be.

4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 Bealeton branch library

All young adults in 6th grade and above are invited. Call 540-422-8500 x3 for more information.

So make those resolutions, read more and have a happy New Year!
