OWLs Program Returns to Your Local Library
Are you an active older adult who would like to get out and learn new things, meet new people and share what you know? How about joining our new program for older, wiser, learners. OWLs, is a new program held monthly at each of the Fauquier County Public Library locations. Each month there will be a new program, including discussions and presenters.
Our kickoff meetings were held in April and they were a huge success. We learned a lot about what our patrons are looking for in this new program. Some of those suggestions include:
- History, local and civil war (walking tours, architecture)
- Aging, health care
- Retirement planning
- Book, film and travel discussions
- Current event discussions
- Exercise/health prevention/awareness
- Financial wellness
- Local artists/authors
If you are interested in any of these topics, or have something to suggest, stop by one of our OWLs programs in May. For your convenience, meetings are held at all three library locations on two separate dates. Each location will have a different program topic each month, so you are sure to learn something new!
