About the event
Jessica Mathews is a Carnegie Endowment for International Peace distinguished fellow and has served as its president for 18 years. She has held jobs in the executive and legislative branches of government, management and research in nonprofits, and journalism. Mathews served on the editorial board of the Washington Post; later writing a weekly column that appeared nationwide and in the International Herald Tribune. She is chair of the Piedmont Journalism Foundation, which helps foster an informed and engaged citizenry in Fauquier County and the surrounding area by enhancing coverage of local news.
Mathews was recently awarded the Harvard Club of Washington DC’s 2024 Public Service Award for her global policy work and efforts for Harvard University.
