eResource News: Learn to Tumble
The TumbleBook Library is your source for engaging, literacy-building activities for children — pre-readers through grade 6 — including animated, talking picture books (English, French and Spanish — perfect for ESL and bilingual needs), chapter books, videos, non-fiction titles, playlists, graphic novels and math stories. A collection of puzzles and games accompany each book and reinforce concepts from the books, allowing for a fun and educational learning experience.
The collection can be accessed online from the library’s public computers or from home through the link on our library web site. (Note: If you are outside the library and have trouble accessing TumbleBook Library from our website, go to http://finditva.com/ and click on E-Books.)
Along with print and audio books, online TumbleBooks are a great option for children who are participating in our summer reading program, Reading by Design.
Old time favorites such as “The Paper Bag Princess” by Robert Munsch, as well as favorite fairy tales such as “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Old Mother Hubbard” come to life in an educational and interactive way.
TumbleBook Library users can build math skills while reading stories that help you learn to count, add, subtract and more. Games, quizzes and supplementary material accompany these books.
Popular with many readers, these books have text highlighting along with audio narration.
In partnership with National Geographic, the TumbleBook Library includes videos covering subjects such as history, geography, social studies and science, to name just a few. Many of these videos are paired with non-fiction titles in the collection. Your child can read “Meet the Meerkat” by Darrin Lunde, for example, and then watch an educational video from National Geographic to learn more about these fascinating creatures.

TumbleBooks are Now Mobile!
Waiting in line with a small child (or trying to keep him/her quiet) can sometimes test your patience/sanity. While it’s easy to just hand your child your phone and let them play games, why not up the quality of their screen time by using the TumbleBooks app?
- Download the app from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google play (Android)
- Open the app
- Tap the Library button
- Choose country – USA
- Choose state – Virginia
- Start typing “Fauquier”

- Tap the Log In button and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy TumbleBook Library as part of your summer reading activities!
