Consumer Reports March 2018: A Good Night’s Sleep

Posted by vicky on

Check out this information in the March issue of Consumer Reports:

Mattresses

This month’s feature article is “Find the Best Mattress for You.” If you have trouble finding the right mattress, this article might help. Consumer Reports tested three types of mattresses (foam, innerspring and adjustable air), using tests for durability, firmness, pressure and support. The article includes reviews of beds-in-a-box (mattresses compressed and rolled for easy shipping) as well as traditional mattresses. There is more in-depth information on eight of the high-scoring models.

Drone Video

Are you interested in taking your own aerial videos of family events–birthday parties, picnics, road trips? You can do this with drones–the ones tested by Consumer Reports are “flying video cameras designed for mainstream use.”  “Taking Photos on the Fly” has tips on how to fly a drone to get good, not shaky, footage. Reviews for outdoor-only drones and selfie drones are also included.

 Retirement Planning

Have you started planning for retirement? “Planning for a Secure Retirement” has tips on what you can do, starting in your 50s, to save for and then ease into retirement. It includes steps you can take if you have to retire sooner that expected due to health issues or an unexpected job layoff. There are also a few strategies for making sure your healthcare expenses are covered.
