Summers may seem short, but most of us pack a lot of activities into these three months. This month’s issue is devoted to “Your Ultimate Summer Survival Guide” filled with information on how to have a great summer!

Air conditioning

Central air conditioning has become so much a part of our lives that most of us can’t remember a time without it. The article “The Coolest House on the Block” has the results of a recent survey on which cooling systems are more likely to break down by the 5th year. Also included are ratings for window units, large and small.

Sunscreen

Are you confused about which kind of sunscreen to use? Wonder exactly what SPF stands for? If so, check out the article “Your Burning Questions, Answered” and the ratings for sunscreens in lotion, spray and stick form.

Grilling

One of my favorite parts of summer is grilling.  If you prefer gas grilling, check out the ratings for grills–from large (will hold 28 or more burgers) to portable. The article also discusses accessories you might want for your grill–grill baskets, digital meat thermometers, and pizza boxes.

Insect repellents

People are becoming more and more concerned about insect-borne viruses. The Zika virus is of particular concern, but others such as West Nile virus, Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever are still around. Check out the article “Insect Repellents in the Age of Zika” for more information on these diseases, as well as insect repellent ratings.

Music

Summer just wouldn’t be be complete without good music. If you’re into streaming music, check out the information on streaming services such as Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify and others. The article “Don’t Miss a Beat” also includes information on and ratings for wireless speakers and headphones.

The following topics and products are also covered in this issue:

  • Vehicle infotainment systems – Which vehicles have the best?
  • A New Vision of True Health – An opinion essay on the future of person-centered healthcare.
