Older Wiser Learners (OWLs) @ Bealeton Depot

Part of Before We Were Yours takes place in the 1930s and 1940s. OWLs are invited to discuss events and share memories of that general time period. OWLs is for older adults interested in learning new things and meeting new friends.

An Evening With the Author: Fauquier Community Read @ Rice Theater, Highland School
May 16 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

As the finale to Fauquier Community Read 2019, Lisa Wingate will make a personal appearance where she will read from Before We Were Yours, discuss her work and her process for researching and writing

 Wingate was one of seven recipients of the National Civics Award, presented by Americans for More Civility, a kindness watchdog organization. The award celebrates public figures who work to promote greater kindness and civility in American life.

Author question and answer session and book signing to follow. Books will be available for purchase. The event is free but registration is recommended.
