What We’re Reading: Mystery Book Club October 2020

Posted by librarystaff on

The Mystery Book Club recently read Twisted Prey by John Sandford. It’s the 28th book in his Prey series featuring Lucas Davenport. In Twisted Prey, Davenport once again crosses paths with Taryn Grant, now a U.S. senator. Several years before, Grant knocked Porter Smalls out of the Senate, and Davenport is sure that she accomplished it through an ugly political trick. When an attempt is made on the life of Smalls, Davenport is convinced that Grant is behind it and sets out to prove it.

Here’s what members of the Mystery Book Club had to say about it.

What We Liked

  • This book is a continuation of the storyline from one of Sandford’s earlier books, Silken Prey
  • Repeating characters from other Sandford books
  • Complex plot

What We Didn’t Like

  • Needed a list to keep track of the book’s minor characters
  • Foul language and violence
  • Some geography mistakes
