Profiles of Honor Scanning Program Comes to Fauquier Public Libraries

Posted by Aaron on

Fauquier County Public Library joins the Profiles of Honor Scanning Program, offered in cooperation with the Library of Virginia and Virginia WWI and WWII Commemorative Commission. The program provides a central digital repository for WWI and WWII manuscripts and other materials. Area residents are invited to bring WWI and WWII photos, letters and other documents to be scanned by Profiles of Honor representatives. Scanned materials will be added to the collection archived at the Library of Virginia.

Two dates and locations are available for scanning:

Saturday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Warrenton central library
Sunday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Bealeton Depot

The library’s annual Honoring Our Veterans photo display honors area veterans – supplied by veterans and their families – who served in all branches of the military. The display will be located at all three library locations from November 1 – 24.  The public is invited to stop in and browse the display at their nearest library location.
