Reading Riot: Achieve Goals Through Visualization

Posted by Aaron on

People climbing snowy mountainsHow do you envision your future self? The start of a new year is a good time to look ahead to the future, to set goals and resolve to improve ourselves.

We all have dreams; goals we want to achieve in life. You may want to travel the world, climb Mt. Everest or skydive. Your goals might be to graduate from college and land the career of your choice. Maybe you want to drive a sports car or fly airplanes. You might yearn to compete in the Olympics or simply live a happy life surrounded by friends and family.

Whatever you dreams may be, a vision board is a concrete representation of those aspirations. It reinforces your dreams and keeps you focused on achieving them. It’s also a fun reminder of who you want to be in life.

All young adults in 6th grade and above are invited to a Vision Board Party at the Bealeton branch library. We’ll provide poster board and magazines and you are welcome to bring photographs and memorabilia to attach. Combine pictures and inspirational words to create a work of art that reflects your goals in life. Then display your Vision Board in a prominent place and look at it every day to remind you of where you want to be.

When: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10

Where: Bealeton branch library

So make those resolutions, read more and have a Happy New Year!
