Catalog Tip: Manage Your Holds
Are you addicted to the best seller lists and want to get your hands on all the latest and greatest books and videos? If so, you’ll want to be savvy in the ways of placing and managing holds in your online library account.
To place a hold (you can have up to 50!), search for an item in our online catalog, then select the item from the results list by clicking on a title to view details. You’ll then click on the Place Hold link, log in to your account and confirm your pickup location. For more details on placing holds, see the Holds section on our online catalog help page.
Once you’ve placed your holds, you’ll want to manage them. To do so, log in to your account and view your holds/requests.
No longer desire that book on the raw food diet? Cancel it.
Going on vacation but don’t want to lose your place in line? Freeze it.
Back from vacation and want to get back in line? Thaw it.
If you’re an avid reader that puts holds on numerous books after reading the Wowbrary newsletter, but aren’t quite ready to tackle all of those items, use the My Lists feature to keep track of items you want to place on hold or check out in the future.
