Reading Riot: Love a Lonely Library Book

Posted by Aaron on

Love A Lonely BookFebruary is Love Your Library month and in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we encourage you to check out and love a lonely library book.

What IS a lonely library book? These are often good books that haven’t been checked out in a while. Like wallflowers at a dance party, they are unappreciated and sadly left to languish on the shelf.

But what can books do for me you might ask? Well…a book is good company on a cold night. Books can make you smarter or inspire you to do great things. A good book can connect you with characters dealing with similar issues and open your eyes to whole new worlds.

The library has thousands of books to choose from but some “lonely” books are overlooked and ignored. So stop in to your nearest library branch to see what you’ve been missing! As an added treat during the month of February, if you find a book with a heart tucked between the pages, you’ll earn some cool stickers and bookmarks. And who can’t use stickers to decorate their notebooks or lockers? Make a lonely book – and yourself – happy. Check one out today!

Happy Love Your Library month!
