Reading Riot: Sending Blankets of Love

Posted by Aaron on

Teens holding blankets they made

The Bealeton Teen Advistory Group (TAG) teens are at it again. This time they are making no-sew blankets to donate to a local nursing home. Using Friends of the Library funds, we purchased fleece fabric in a variety of patterns to make six blankets. Then, working in pairs the teens cut the fleece and tied the fringe. Next, we’ll deliver the finished blankets to Oak Springs Nursing Home to give cozy comfort to the seniors. And the TAG teens gain a rewarding sense of accomplishment for making and sharing these hand-made gifts.

It’s not too late to join TAG. Simply complete the TAG Membership Form or ask your librarian how to get involved.
