Reading Riot: Hand-Made Comfort for Seniors

Posted by Aaron on

The dedicated Bealeton Teen Advisory Group (TAG) teens are always on the lookout for ways to give back to their community. In years past we have made holiday cards for heroes, helped at the Bealeton library annual Santa visit, planted flowers at the library and committed Random Acts of Kindness just to name a few activities.

This year, TAG plans to add a new act of giving. Teens will make no-sew blanket throws, which will be donated to residents of area nursing homes. Soft fleece blankets will give cozy comfort to seniors while teens will earn the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment of making and sharing these hand-made gifts.

Anyone in the 6th grade or above is welcome to join TAG and participate in the program. TAG is a great way to get involved at the library, make new friends, plan events and have fun! Just complete the TAG Membership Form or ask your librarian how to get involved.
