Unlimited Possibilities @ Your Library

National Library Week 2015National Library Week is April 12 – 18. This annual event celebrates libraries, their staff and their patrons.

The 2015 theme is Unlimited Possibilities @ Your Library, which has never been more fitting than today.

It’s easy to think of libraries as places and things – buildings, shelves, books and computers. But the truth is, libraries are so much more. For many of us, libraries were among the first places where we
connected to ideas bigger than ourselves. Whether we knew it or not, libraries were lighting the fire to do, see and be something more.

Part of our mission and what we’ll celebrate during National Library Week is how we keep that fire going.
For example, this month we are launching Older Wiser Learners (OWLS)—a program geared to adults that promises connections to big ideas and enriching activities. Want to discuss books, movies or current events? This is the group for you!

Daily programs for children and adults can also be found at your local library, while teens can volunteer to earn service hours or participate in our teen writing group or Teen Advisory Group.

There’s a lot more going on for all ages. Yep, the possibilities are unlimited at your library.
